DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS A SPELLING MISTAKE IN YOUR ‘NOTES TO PARENTS AND TEACHERS’?
No there isn’t. Twice. The word referred to is intentionally spelled “Pome’, because I don’t regard myself as a great Poet like Keats, Wordsworth, Wilfred Owen, Joni Mitchell or Elvis Costello. My works tend to be stories that sometimes rhyme and the rhythm often changes to suit so, yeah, Pomes not Poems.
DO BUDGIES REALLY FART?
I believe that all male animals fart. Ladies do not fart, although they might, very occasionally, emit a gentle bottom burp.
DO TEACHERS FART?
Teachers are the backbone of Civilisation and should be respected at all times. However, for sure all Male Teachers fart and the bossy Lady ones too.
WHY IS PETER PIKE SO MEAN?
Because he was spoilt as a child, but not really loved.
DID SAM REALLY END UP AS HAM?
Yes, every bit of him. Ham, Bacon, Pork chops, Black pudding, Sausages and Scratchings.
SHOULD WE EAT ANIMALS OR BE VEGETARIAN?
If humans had never eaten animals, it is unlikely that we would be humans. However, now that we are humans, we have become civilised and, to be civilised means that we should respect animals. They should not be factory farmed, they should be allowed to have a happy life and a death as free of fear and pain as possible. And, in order to keep our World safe, we should change what we eat and eat less.
WHY IS THERE VIOLENCE AND DEATH IN YOUR POMES?
Two reasons;
Violence and death happen all around us. Although we shouldn’t glorify violence, neither should we pretend that it isn’t there.
When I was growing up, almost all children’s stories were about violence and death. For instance, Little Red Riding Hood. The Wolf eats Grandma and wants to eat Red Riding Hood but, the Woodsman chops up the Wolf with his axe.
I don’t think this damaged me in any way and it taught me that eating Grandmas is a bad thing. The story had a moral and I think you will see that all my stories have a moral of some sort.
SO, DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD FIGHT BACK AGAINST BULLIES?
This is a matter that you really need to discuss with your Parents and make your own decision. However, since you have asked me, I would say that we should. Yes.
WHY DO YOU USE SO MANY HARD WORDS?
Because learning and being challenged are good for you and ought to be fun. I hope that if you see or hear the hard words I have used in their context (Hard word?), then you will soon get to understand the general meaning and, with use, come to understand the subtleties (Hard word). Also, it keeps your Parents and Teachers on their toes.
